Multiplier Competitors: 10 Best EOR Alternatives Compared

Multiplier Competitors
TL;DR
  • The 10 best Multiplier alternatives are Deel, Remote, Rippling, Papaya Global, Oyster, Pebl (formerly Velocity Global), Globalization Partners, Playroll, Payoneer Workforce Management and Wisemonk for India.
  • Multiplier's published EOR rate is $459 per employee per month on Core and $519 on Growth, both billed annually. The $400 quoted across the web is its Contractor of Record rate, not its EOR rate.
  • Published EOR rates on this list run from $199 to $699 per employee per month, as of September 2026. Rippling, Papaya Global and Pebl quote per deal instead of publishing a rate.
  • Check the vendor's own rate card, not a blog post on the same domain. Almost every wrong EOR price in circulation started life on a vendor blog, FAQ or comparison page.

Is the $400 you budgeted for Multiplier actually its EOR price?

It is not. $400 is Multiplier's Contractor of Record rate. Its published EOR rate is $459 per employee per month on Core, billed annually, and $519 on Growth.

That one number is wrong on most pages ranking for this search. On a team of 10 it moves your budget by roughly $7,000 a year, so we start there, then compare the alternatives.

Here is the side by side first.

How do the 10 best Multiplier competitors compare?

Seven of these ten publish an EOR rate. Those run from $199 per employee per month at Payoneer Workforce Management to $699 at Remote and Oyster, against Multiplier's $459. The other three quote per deal. Coverage runs from 90 countries to 185, and one option here covers only India.

OysterGlobal EOR for distributed teams$699 per employee/mo120+ (180+ for contractors)

Globalization Partners (G-P)Enterprise global EOR$599 per employee/mo180+
PlayrollGlobal EOR with a published flat fee$399 per month180+
Payoneer Workforce Management (formerly Skuad)Global EOR and contractor payments$199 per employee/mo160+
WisemonkIndia-only EORFrom $99 per employee/moIndia only, all states

And a provider that publishes no rate is not concealing one. Enterprise sales motions quote per deal, which is normal. It does mean you cannot model the cost before a call, or check who actually employs your team in each market.

Now the number almost everyone gets wrong.

What does Multiplier actually charge for EOR?

Multiplier publishes $459 per employee per month on Core and $519 on Growth, both billed annually, and $499 a month on a monthly contract. Its Contractor of Record rate is $400 and independent contractors are $40, all on its own pricing page as of September 2026.

Multiplier's published rates by product, as of September 2026
ProductPublished rate
EOR, Core plan$459 per employee per month, billed annually; $499 monthly
EOR, Growth plan$519 per employee per month, billed annually
EOR, Enterprise planCustom quote
Contractor of Record$400 per contractor per month
Independent contractors$40 per contractor per month
Global payrollFrom $20

So where does the $400 come from? It is a genuine Multiplier price. It is simply the wrong product: it is what Multiplier charges to act as Contractor of Record, which employs nobody.

It spreads because it sits on Multiplier's own domain, across its blog, its FAQ and its comparison pages. It also appears on a rival provider's pricing page. All of that reads as first-party.

A first-party domain is not a first-party page. Check the rate card. A blog post that happens to sit on the same website is not one.

That check takes 30 seconds and it is the fastest way to catch a wrong figure before it reaches your budget. Apply it to everything below, ours included, alongside the rest of the EOR buyer's checklist.

What are the 10 best Multiplier alternatives and competitors?

1. Deel

  • What it is: a global EOR and contractor platform, with EOR in 130+ countries.
  • Best for: teams hiring in several countries at once that want one vendor, one invoice and a wide integration set.
  • Published pricing: $599 per EOR employee per month, $49 per contractor, Contractor of Record $325, US PEO $125, recruiting $14, as of September 2026.
  • The limitation: at $599 it costs $140 a month more per employee than Multiplier's Core rate, and the product surface is wider than a small team will use.

Our Deel alternatives guide covers the full field. If the choice is down to these two, we put them head to head in Deel vs Multiplier.

2. Remote

  • What it is: a global EOR with EOR coverage in 90+ countries.
  • Best for: companies where IP assignment is the main worry and the employing entity needs to sit under one corporate roof.
  • Published pricing: $699 per employee per month for EOR and $29 per contractor, as of September 2026.
  • The limitation: $699 is the joint highest published rate on this list, and 90+ countries is the narrowest EOR coverage among the global providers here.

If breadth matters more to you than entity ownership, our Remote alternatives guide lays out that trade-off.

3. Rippling

Rippling treats EOR as one module inside a workforce suite. Onboard a person and provision their laptop and software from the same workflow.

  • What it is: an HR, IT and finance platform with an EOR module attached, not an EOR-first provider.
  • Best for: companies that want device management, identity and payroll on one employee record rather than stitched together.
  • Published pricing: custom quote. Rippling's own wording is "Tell us what services you need, and we'll send you a custom quote".
  • The limitation: Rippling publishes no consolidated EOR country list, so ask which countries your quote actually covers before you compare it with anyone here.

Our Rippling alternatives guide covers simpler options. We also compare the two directly in Rippling vs Multiplier.

4. Papaya Global

Papaya Global aims at large, messy multi-country payroll estates, with licensed cross-border payment rails built into the platform.

  • What it is: an enterprise global payroll platform that also provides EOR, rather than the other way around.
  • Best for: finance teams consolidating payroll across many countries who need payments and reporting in one place.
  • Published pricing: custom quote. Papaya Global does not publish a self-serve rate, so expect a sales conversation before you see a number.
  • The limitation: with no self-serve number you cannot model the cost before a sales call, which makes early budget comparison harder than it needs to be.

Our Papaya Global alternatives guide compares it against lower-priced providers that do publish a rate.

5. Oyster

  • What it is: a global EOR covering 120+ countries for EOR and 180+ for contractors.
  • Best for: remote-first companies that want a strong candidate and employee experience rather than the widest possible map.
  • Published pricing: $699 per employee per month for EOR and $29 per contractor, as of September 2026.
  • The limitation: joint most expensive here, and the 180+ figure you will see quoted is contractor coverage. Do not compare it with another vendor's EOR count.

Our Oyster alternatives guide breaks down where that premium is worth paying.

6. Pebl (formerly Velocity Global)

Velocity Global rebranded to Pebl in September 2025. The legal entity is still Velocity Global, LLC, so older contracts will carry the old name.

  • What it is: a global EOR with immigration and equity support, covering 185+ countries.
  • Best for: enterprise expansion where visas, relocation and equity plans sit alongside the employment itself.
  • Published pricing: none. Pebl publishes no EOR rate on its own site as of September 2026, so budget on a written quote rather than a figure from a comparison page.
  • The limitation: the rebrand is recent, so invoices, support articles and paperwork still mix both names. Confirm which legal entity your agreement actually names.

Our Velocity Global alternatives guide covers the wider field.

7. Globalization Partners (G-P)

  • What it is: an enterprise global EOR covering 180+ countries.
  • Best for: regulated industries and large programmes that want depth of compliance support ahead of speed or price.
  • Published pricing: $599 per employee per month, as of September 2026.
  • The limitation: it typically sells on an annual commitment, so ask for the minimum term in writing before you compare it with a month-to-month provider.

Our G-P alternatives guide walks through lower-priced options.

8. Playroll

  • What it is: a global EOR covering 180+ countries on a published flat fee.
  • Best for: teams whose main complaint about their current provider is the invoice rather than the service.
  • Published pricing: $399 per month, as of September 2026.
  • The limitation: it is a smaller brand than the incumbents here, so run your own reference checks in the specific countries you are hiring in.

If published pricing is what you are after, our EOR pricing breakdown shows what sits underneath the headline fee.

9. Payoneer Workforce Management (formerly Skuad)

Skuad now trades as Payoneer Workforce Management after Payoneer acquired it. It is no longer independent, which matters when you check references.

  • What it is: a global EOR and contractor payment platform, now inside Payoneer.
  • Best for: companies already moving money through Payoneer, and cost-sensitive teams hiring across Asia.
  • Published pricing: $199 per employee per month for EOR, $99 per contractor under Agent of Record, and $19 for contractor management, as of September 2026. That is the lowest published EOR rate on this list.
  • The limitation: it states 160+ countries without separating its own entities from partner ones, so get your specific markets confirmed in writing before you sign.

Our Skuad alternatives guide covers the field if the acquisition has changed your view.

10. Wisemonk

The tenth entry is us, and it is the only one here that does not try to cover the world. We employ people in India and nowhere else.

If you want the number before you talk to anyone, model a hire with our India employee cost calculator.

  • What it is: an India-only Employer of Record, running payroll on our own entity across every Indian state.
  • Best for: companies where India headcount is the point, not one row on a 130-country map.
  • Published pricing: from $99 per employee per month, with Contractor of Record at 6% per contractor payment. Managed payroll and entity setup are on a custom quote.
  • The limitation: we are India only. If you need to hire across 40 countries, one of the providers above is the right call, and we will say so on the first call.

If you are moving an existing India team rather than starting one, our India EOR migration checklist covers the sequence.

Which Multiplier alternative is right for your situation?

Route by the shape of your hiring, not by the brand. If you need many countries, buy breadth. If one country carries the headcount, buy depth. If the invoice is the problem, buy a published rate. Those three questions settle most shortlists in about ten minutes.

  • Hiring across many countries at once: Deel on breadth at 130+ countries, or G-P at 180+ where compliance depth matters more than price.
  • One country carries most of your headcount: a specialist in that country normally beats a generalist on both compliance and cost. For India, we compare the field in our guide to the best EOR companies in India.
  • The invoice is the complaint: Payoneer Workforce Management at $199, or Playroll at $399. Both publish their rate, which is more than most of this list manages.
  • IP assignment is the worry: Remote has the clearest owned-entity story on this list, at $699 per employee per month.

One thing worth checking before you sign anything is the contract, not the rate card. We list what to look for in red flags in an EOR contract.

And if you are already mid-renewal, how to switch EOR providers covers the timing and the handover.

How does Wisemonk help if India is your main hiring market?

Wisemonk is an India-native Employer of Record. We help global companies hire, pay and manage people in India without setting up a local entity.

That work covers 300+ global clients and 2,000+ employees under management in India, with $20M+ in annual payroll processed, 4.8 out of 5 on G2, and pricing from $99 per employee per month.

What that covers in practice:

  • Payroll and statutory compliance: EPF, ESI, professional tax, TDS and gratuity, filed monthly as part of payroll in India.
  • Contractor of Record: engage India specialists compliantly through a Contractor of Record, at 6% per contractor payment.
  • Managed payroll: if you already hold an Indian entity, we can run managed payroll on it, on a custom quote.
  • Entity setup: when you outgrow the EOR arrangement we handle company registration in India, also on a custom quote.
  • Equipment logistics: procurement, delivery and recovery of laptops inside India, available as an add-on when we ship laptops to your India team.
  • Hiring support: source and shortlist candidates before you employ them, if you need help to hire in India.

We are a leading EOR in India, now expanding our services to the US and UK.

I highly recommend them. Wisemonk helped us tap into the vibrant and top-notch Indian talent market and hire our first couple of founding engineers in record time. We've been able to accelerate our roadmap and deliver terrific value to our customers thanks to Wisemonk's efforts. They are easy to work with and very transparent about the process. I highly recommend them to any company looking for talent located in India.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Multiplier cost per employee?

Multiplier publishes $459 per employee per month on its Core plan and $519 on Growth, both billed annually, with Enterprise on a custom quote. The widely quoted $400 is its Contractor of Record rate, not its EOR rate. Independent contractors are $40 per month.

Why do so many sites say Multiplier costs $400?

Because $400 sits on Multiplier's own domain, across its blog, FAQ and comparison pages, and on a rival's pricing page. Search engines read all of that as first-party. It is a real price, but it belongs to Contractor of Record rather than to EOR.

What are the best Multiplier alternatives?

Deel and Globalization Partners lead on country coverage, Remote on owned entities, Payoneer Workforce Management and Playroll on published price, and Rippling on unified HR and IT. Wisemonk is the India-only specialist. The right Multiplier alternative depends on how many countries you actually hire in.

Which Multiplier competitor has the lowest published price?

Payoneer Workforce Management publishes $199 per employee per month, the lowest published EOR rate among these Multiplier competitors as of September 2026. Playroll publishes $399. Wisemonk starts at $99 but employs only in India, so it is not a like-for-like global comparison.

Can I switch from Multiplier to another EOR without disrupting payroll?

Yes, with planning. Most transitions end the contract with the old provider and re-onboard employees under the new one. Start at the beginning of a payroll cycle, give employees two to three weeks notice, and confirm in writing that leave balances and tenure carry across.

Does switching EOR providers affect employee tenure or benefits?

It can. Because the EOR is the legal employer, switching ends one employment relationship and begins another, which may reset probation, leave accrual and benefits eligibility depending on the country. Ask each provider whether they will honor existing accruals before you sign anything.

Is Wisemonk a good Multiplier alternative for India?

If India is where most of your headcount sits, yes. Wisemonk employs only in India, runs payroll across every state, and starts at $99 per employee per month. If you need to hire across many countries, one of the global platforms on this list is the better fit.
