Hire Dynamics 365 Developers in India: Salary & Cost Guide

Hire Dynamics 365 Developers in India: Cost & Process
TL;DR
  • Cost: Dynamics 365 developers in India earn $4,900 to $5,900 a year at one to three years (₹4.7 to ₹5.6 lakh), $8,200 to $9,400 at three to six (₹7.8 to ₹8.9 lakh) and $11,700 to $16,900 at six to nine (₹11.1 to ₹16.1 lakh).
  • The talent pool is genuinely thin: about 287 reported salaries sit behind those bands, against roughly 24,500 for a UI developer, so expect a long search rather than a large shortlist.
  • The senior band is effectively unpriced: it rests on about five reported salaries, which is why its range spans 45 percent. Treat it as a starting point for negotiation, not a benchmark.
  • Fully loaded cost: add roughly 5 percent to gross. Provident Fund is capped at ₹15,000 of monthly wages and Employees' State Insurance does not apply above ₹21,000 a month.
  • To start: post the role and every applicant is screened and ranked against your criteria automatically. Employment, payroll and compliance are handled once you pick someone.

$8,200 to $9,400 a year (₹7.8 to ₹8.9 lakh) is what a Dynamics 365 developer with three to six years costs in India, and the more useful number is how few of them there are. We have built India teams for 300+ companies, and this is the scarcest skill in our India role data by a wide margin.

The figures here describe a full time employee on your payroll. Microsoft partners price Dynamics work by the project or the day and carry licensing, margin and bench cost inside that rate, which is why a partner quote and a salary sit far apart. For a permanent hire, post the role and we will screen and rank every applicant against your criteria.

Name the product family in the brief, because Dynamics 365 is two different jobs. Customer Engagement covers sales, service and marketing, and is built with the low-code platform underneath it. Finance and Operations is enterprise resource planning: ledgers, supply chain, manufacturing. Both are called Dynamics 365 developer on Indian CVs, and someone deep in one is usually a beginner in the other.

What does it cost to hire a Dynamics 365 developer in India?

Dynamics 365 salaries in India run about $4,900 to $5,900 a year (₹4.7 to ₹5.6 lakh) at one to three years, $8,200 to $9,400 (₹7.8 to ₹8.9 lakh) at three to six, and $11,700 to $16,900 (₹11.1 to ₹16.1 lakh) at six to nine.

Dynamics 365 developer salary in India by experience level
LevelExperienceINR (LPA)USD/yearReported salaries
Junior1 to 3 years₹4.7 to ₹5.6 lakh$4,900 to $5,900~95
Mid-level3 to 6 years₹7.8 to ₹8.9 lakh$8,200 to $9,400~185
Senior6 to 9 years₹11.1 to ₹16.1 lakh$11,700 to $16,900~5

Read the last column before the others. About 287 reported salaries sit behind this entire role, which is a rounding error next to the 24,500 behind a UI developer and small even beside a specialised platform like SharePoint. Two things follow. Sourcing will take longer than any other role in this range, so open the search early and expect a shortlist measured in candidates rather than pages. And the senior band is built on roughly five salaries, which is why it spans 45 percent rather than the ten to fifteen percent typical elsewhere. At that level you are negotiating against an individual's expectations, not a market rate. Compare against other enterprise stacks in India before you set a band.

What is the fully loaded cost of a Dynamics 365 developer in India?

Roughly 5 percent above gross. Indian statutory contributions attach only to wages below thresholds that every Dynamics salary passes, so the rates below apply to a small slice of the package rather than the whole of it.

India statutory employer contributions
ComponentRateApplies (Central or State)
Employees' Provident Fund (retirement savings, similar to a 401(k))12% employer, 12% employee, on wages up to ₹15,000 a monthCentral
Employees' State Insurance (state-run health cover for lower-paid staff)3.25% employer, 0.75% employee, only where wages are ₹21,000 a month or belowCentral
GratuityAccrues from year one, payable after five years of continuous serviceCentral
Professional taxUp to ₹2,500 a year, varies by stateState
Leave encashmentAccrues against unused leave, per policyState rules on leave

Worked example on a ₹8 lakh package, about $8,400. Provident Fund sits at ₹1,800 a month each side, because the ₹15,000 wage ceiling caps it well below the actual salary. Employees' State Insurance does not apply, since ₹67,000 a month is far above the ₹21,000 threshold. Gratuity accrues at about $201 a year, leave encashment $172 and health insurance $105. Total lands near $8,800.

Budget separately for licensing and sandbox environments. Unlike open stacks, a Dynamics developer cannot practise or prototype without access to a licensed environment, which is part of why the population is small and why the ones you want are already inside partner firms.

Run your own numbers with the Employee Cost Calculator, see take home pay with the Salary Calculator and the Gratuity Calculator, or read what an India employee costs across roles. Gross salary and CTC, the Indian total-cost-to-company figure including employer contributions, are not the same number.

How do you evaluate a Dynamics 365 developer in India?

Establish which half of the product they actually know within the first five minutes, then test whether they respect the platform's boundaries. Because the pool is small, the temptation is to accept anyone who lists Dynamics on a CV, and that is how projects acquire code nobody can upgrade.

Configuration before code: Ask what they built with the platform's own tooling rather than with custom development. Dynamics ships a great deal of behaviour, and every custom plugin has to survive Microsoft's twice-yearly updates. Someone who reaches for code first will make your next update a project.

Which product family, and how deep: Ask them to describe a data model they designed. Customer Engagement people talk about entities, relationships and security roles. Finance and Operations people talk about ledgers, dimensions and posting. Someone fluent in both is rare and worth confirming carefully rather than assuming.

Integrations that failed: Ask about connecting Dynamics to something else and what broke. Real answers involve throttling limits, batch sizes or a synchronisation that silently stopped. Most of the difficult work on this platform sits at its edges.

Knowing when Dynamics is the wrong answer: Ask what they would refuse to build in it. Experienced people will say a process with heavy custom logic belongs in a purpose-built application, and that reporting belongs in Power BI rather than in bespoke dashboards inside the platform.

Skip the tier-1 college filter. Across our placements the strongest Dynamics people frequently arrived through business analysis, finance or CRM administration rather than computer science, and for the functional side of this product that route usually produces the better hire. The same holds for other engineering roles in India.

Where do the best Dynamics 365 developers in India work?

Almost entirely inside Microsoft partner firms and the Dynamics practices of the large Indian IT services companies, with a small second pool in the internal systems teams of manufacturers, distributors and financial services firms that run the product at scale. The centres are Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and the Delhi region.

That concentration is the whole difficulty. Partner firms hold nearly all the experienced people, those people are billable on client projects rather than actively looking, and the firms counter-offer hard because a certified Dynamics consultant is difficult for them to replace too. There is no meaningful open-source or self-taught population to draw on, unlike front-end or backend roles, because the skill cannot be built without licensed environments.

Practically, this means treating any strong candidate as time-sensitive and being ready to move within days rather than weeks. Global capability centers in India sets out how larger business-applications teams are structured, and remote engineers working with US clients covers timezone overlap.

How long does it take to hire a Dynamics 365 developer in India?

Longer than the bands suggest, and the search rather than the notice period is the slow part. India has no statutory employer notice period for most roles, so the date is set by the contract your candidate already signed, and partner firms write long clauses to protect client engagements.

Hiring timeline for a Dynamics 365 developer in India
StageTypical duration
Post the role and publish the job postSame day
Applicants screened and rankedAutomatic, as they apply
Interviews and selectionYour pace, commonly 2 to 4 weeks given the small pool
Offer and acceptanceA few days, longer if a counter-offer lands
Notice period at current employerSet by their contract, often 60 to 90 days
Onboarding to first working dayWithin days once notice is served

The commonly cited 30 day statutory notice period does not exist. Maharashtra's 1948 Act carried that rule and was repealed in December 2017, and its replacement prescribes none. What binds is the clause in your candidate's own agreement. Open the role early, and see how onboarding through an EOR in India runs once notice is served.

What is the best way to employ a Dynamics 365 developer in India?

For one to fifty hires, an Employer of Record is the fastest compliant route. You get a full time employee with statutory benefits and clean ownership of the customisations they build, without registering an Indian company. Contractors start faster but carry misclassification exposure. Your own entity earns its keep at scale.

Retention is the argument that matters here, because replacing this person is genuinely hard. A scarce skill plus an undocumented set of customisations plus a contractor arrangement is how organisations end up unable to change their own system. Employment also settles ownership of the plugins and configurations by default. Misclassification is the other exposure, and India judges it on how the work is actually carried out rather than what the agreement calls it. Test yours with the Employee Misclassification Check, compare routes with the EOR vs Entity Calculator, and read EOR vs contractor vs direct hire or the full comparison of India hiring routes. Already have an entity? PEO services in India fits better.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire a Dynamics 365 developer in India?

About $4,900 to $5,900 a year (₹4.7 to ₹5.6 lakh) at one to three years, $8,200 to $9,400 (₹7.8 to ₹8.9 lakh) at three to six, and $11,700 to $16,900 (₹11.1 to ₹16.1 lakh) at six to nine. Statutory contributions add roughly 5 percent.

Why is the senior salary range so wide?

Because it rests on roughly five reported salaries. A band built on that many people describes those individuals rather than a market, which is why it spans 45 percent. Use it to frame a conversation, not to benchmark an offer, and expect to negotiate against one candidate's expectations.

Is it hard to find Dynamics 365 developers in India?

Yes, harder than any other role we cover. About 287 reported salaries exist for the whole role, against roughly 24,500 for a UI developer. The skill cannot be self-taught without licensed environments, so almost everyone experienced already works for a Microsoft partner and is billable on a client project.

What is the difference between Customer Engagement and Finance and Operations?

Customer Engagement covers sales, service and marketing, built on the low-code platform. Finance and Operations is enterprise resource planning: ledgers, supply chain and manufacturing. Both carry the Dynamics 365 developer title in India, and depth in one rarely implies competence in the other, so name the family in your posting.

Can I hire a Dynamics 365 developer in India without setting up a company?

Yes. An Employer of Record employs the person in India for you, so you get a full time employee without registering an Indian entity. Hiring in India without an entity sets out the mechanics, including contracts, payroll and statutory filings.

How long is the notice period for Microsoft partner staff in India?

No statute fixes one for most roles. It comes from the individual employment contract, and Microsoft partner firms commonly write 60 to 90 day clauses to protect client engagements. Ask for the clause before you agree a start date, since the figures repeated across hiring guides carry no legal weight.

Why hire Dynamics 365 developers in India through Wisemonk?

India is the whole of our business rather than one country on a list. 300+ global clients, 2,000+ EOR employees managed, $20M+ in payroll processed, 4.8/5 on G2. Recruiting and employing sit together, which matters most when the pool is small and a strong candidate will not stay available for long.
