About the role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a remote basis. You'll take ownership of backend systems and architecture, working primarily with Python and Django to build scalable, reliable services. This is a full-time role based remotely, ideal for experienced engineers in India seeking meaningful technical challenges and the autonomy to drive impact.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems using Python and Django
• Architect scalable solutions that support growing user bases and complex business requirements
• Write clean, well-tested code and conduct thorough code reviews with teammates
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated features
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical documentation and best practices
• Participate in system design discussions and technical decision-making

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python and Django framework
• Solid understanding of database design, APIs, and distributed systems
• Experience with version control, testing frameworks, and CI/CD practices
• Ability to write maintainable code and think about long-term system health
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in remote, asynchronous environments
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
• Experience with cloud platforms or containerization is a plus
