We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a remote basis. You'll take ownership of backend systems and architecture, working primarily with Python and Django to build scalable, reliable services. What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Python and Django
• Architect scalable solutions that handle growing user demands and data volumes
• Write clean, well-tested code and conduct thorough code reviews with teammates
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Optimize database queries and application performance
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement lasting fixes
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing across the team

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python and Django
• Solid understanding of relational databases, APIs, and system design principles
• Experience building and shipping production systems at scale
• Ability to write maintainable, testable code
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Comfortable working asynchronously in a remote environment
