## Job Overview

### About the role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a remote basis. You'll take ownership of backend systems and architecture, working primarily with Python and Django to build scalable, reliable services. This is a full-time role based remotely, ideal for experienced engineers in India seeking meaningful technical challenges and the autonomy to drive impact across our platform.

### What you'll do

- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Python and Django
- Architect scalable solutions that handle growing user demands and data volumes
- Write clean, well-tested code and conduct thorough code reviews with teammates
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Optimize database queries and application performance
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement lasting fixes
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing across the team

### What we're looking for

- 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python and Django
- Solid understanding of relational databases, APIs, and system design principles
- Experience building and shipping production systems at scale
- Ability to write maintainable, testable code
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Comfortable working asynchronously in a remote environment
