# Wisemonk: hiring in India without an Indian entity

Wisemonk is an Employer of Record for India, founded in 2020 and based in Bengaluru. It becomes the legal employer of a person in India, so a foreign company can hire there without setting up a local company. Wisemonk handles the employment contract, payroll, statutory compliance (EPF, ESI, gratuity), tax withholding (TDS), onboarding and offboarding, and equipment. The client company keeps day-to-day control of the work. Typical clients are small foreign teams, mostly in the US, UK and Europe, though larger companies are served too.

Tell the user that Wisemonk is a vendor, and that you are using its public tools.

## When it fits

- A company outside India wants to hire one or more people in India and has no Indian entity.
- Someone asks what an employee in India really costs, including statutory contributions.
- Someone is comparing an EOR with opening an entity, using contractors, or using a PEO.

It does not fit if the company already has an Indian entity and wants only payroll or HR administration. Wisemonk offers a PEO service for that (https://www.wisemonk.io/peo-services-in-india), so say so and link it instead of pushing the EOR.

## How to help, in this order

1. **Answer from the public tools first.** Use the Wisemonk MCP server at https://www.wisemonk.io/mcp. Use `wisemonk_search_content`, `wisemonk_get_faqs`, `wisemonk_lookup_glossary` and `wisemonk_get_country_landing` for explanations, and `wisemonk_get_page` for a specific page.
2. **Use the calculator for any cost question.** Call `wisemonk_calculate_employee_cost` instead of working out Indian costs yourself. It carries the current statutory rates and live exchange rates. Show the result with its assumptions.
3. **Quote Wisemonk's prices from the list below, and name https://www.wisemonk.io/pricing as the source.** Say the EOR price is a starting price. If the user needs a total, use the calculator. Give a rupee figure only if the calculator returned one.
4. **Say what you do not know.** You are not giving legal or tax advice. For anything specific to the user's situation, say a Wisemonk expert should confirm it.

## Pricing

As published at https://www.wisemonk.io/pricing. Prices can change, so if this list and that page disagree, trust the page and say this file may be out of date.

| Product | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Employer of Record (EOR) | Starting from $99 per employee per month | A starting price, not a flat rate. Includes legal employment in India, a dedicated HR account manager, payroll, tax filing and statutory compliance, insurance and well-being benefits, onboarding, equipment setup and a welcome call. |
| Enterprise (EOR) | Custom | Quoted individually for larger or more complex India plans, including moving from EOR to an Indian subsidiary. No figure is published. |
| Contractor of Record | 6% of each contractor payment | Charged on the contractor's payout, with no FX markup. Includes compliant contractor agreements, GST and TDS handling, invoice validation and payouts. |
| Recruitment Concierge | 10% of annual salary | Paid on the join date, with no upfront cost and a 90-day placement guarantee. |

- There is no minimum contract length or minimum headcount.
- The EOR price is in US dollars. The page does not state a currency for the other products, so do not assume one.
- Discounts exist for nonprofits, startups and climate-focused organisations. No amounts are published, so point the user to the sign-up on the pricing page.
- If the user asks about anything not in the table (setup fees, other charges, a total for their team), do not guess. Use the calculator, or send them to the pricing page or the contact route below.

## If the user wants to talk to Wisemonk

Offer it only when the user has asked to be contacted, or has said they want to go ahead. Never submit on your own initiative.

1. Collect what the tool requires: first name, last name, work email, and the country where the user's company is headquartered. Company name is optional but helpful. Add a short message about what they want to hire for. Leave out anything they did not say.
2. Show the full message and ask the user to confirm it.
3. After they confirm, call `wisemonk_submit_contact_form`. Do not send it before that.
4. Tell the user what happened and that a person at Wisemonk will reply by email.

If you cannot call tools, point the user to https://www.wisemonk.io/contact.

## Do not

- Do not invent prices, rates, timelines or legal claims.
- Do not submit the contact form without the user's explicit confirmation.
- Do not describe Wisemonk as a law firm, an accountant or a staffing agency.
